About this position

As a member of the Game Development division, you will be responsible for developing game systems and other core game functionality based on concepts from the Game Design division, while following industry-standard practices for software design and engineering.
Core tasks
- Develop and maintain game systems and other core game functionality.
- Partner with game designers, game artists, and other asset teams to apply assets quickly and efficiently.
- Maintain and scale game systems as development continues to ensure its functionality remains efficient.
Requirements
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Some form of experience in software development.
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Bonus qualifications
- Experience using Git and/or GitLab.
- Experience in game design.
- Experience using the Godot engine and GDScript.
Compensation
This position is not for someone who needs immediate payment. This position is contractor-based. At Daydream Studio, this means a position that does not provide payment upfront, but rather guarantees a portion of both project and company revenue that will be divided up amongst all contractors based on their performance.
Project Revenue Sharing
For example, a project may have 35% of its revenue dedicated to paying out contractors. Each portion of work that is given out will have a certain amount of points attached to it depending on complexity. At the conclusion of a project, the final point tally is calculated, and then you will get a cut of that 35%, proportional to the amount of points you earn. If you earn 10% of the points available, for instance, you will get 10% of that 35% portion, or 3.5% of revenue.
Company Revenue Sharing
Company-wide revenues are only shared to contractors who are active and meet a minimum global point threshold. The company revenue sharing pool draws from a set percentage of total company revenue. Shares are calculated based on total points earned across all projects, divided by the collective points of all contractors across the entire company across projects and multiplied by the company-wide contractor profit percentage.
